As the summer comes to an end and we look forward to the fall semester, UConn Hillel is excited to announce that two new staff members have joined the UConn Hillel Family! Rotem Dimri is joining our team as the Israel Fellow and Nicki Poliak as the Engagement Associate.
Here are some thoughts from UCONN Hillel President Henry Mondschein:
"On behalf of the UConn Hillel Board of Directors, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Nicki Poliak and Rotem Dimri. Nicki and Rotem are two incredibly dynamic, passionate, and energetic individuals and we are thrilled to welcome them to the UConn Hillel Professional Team. Nicki and Rotem's experience will further accelerate the effort to develop new approaches to engaging Jewish college students and to become a center of innovation, leadership and creativity in the Hillel movement as well as in the larger UConn community."
Nicki is a recent graduate from the University of Delaware, where she completed her degree with a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Nicki grew up on Long Island and spent all of her summers attending and working at URJ Camp Eisner. She was involved in UD Hillel as the Co-President of their Challah for Hunger chapter, a Freshman Fest Ambassador, and the Holocaust Education Intern. Nicki is also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
In her free time, Nicki loves to read, hike, and spend time with her friends, family, and pets. Nicki is excited to share her passion for Judaism and community building with students and she is so happy to be a part of the UConn Hillel family!
Rotem hails from Rishon Le Zion, a suburb near Tel Aviv, Israel. She recently finished her studies at Tel Aviv University where she majored in Political Science and Communications. She previously served as a Hebrew teacher and counselor for two summers in URJ summer camp Osrui in Wisconsin. She has also worked at the Israeli scouts as head union for two years.
Rotem likes to hike, travel and to watch 'Friends' marathons. Rotem is thrilled to be joining UConn Hillel and cannot wait to share her love of Israel with UConn Hillel and the rest of the UConn community!
Rotem and Nicki will be wonderful additions to our terrific cohort of Hillel leaders at the University of Connecticut. We invite you to reach out and welcome them at email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
