A staple of UConn Hillel's programming is our weekly Shabbat

celebrations, in addition to those of all Jewish holidays.

Shabbat is a time for family - and a time to take a break from the rest of the week. Dinner is FREE to all in attendance. Everyone is welcome to join our Hillel family anytime. Email Jake Niefeld if you would like to visit!

On Friday nights we begin at 6pm with student led Kabbalat Shabbat services.

We hold a community Shabbat dinner, catered by NOSH Kosher Kitchen in the Gelfenbien Commons Dining Hall, in our Multipurpose Room, which serves anywhere from 40-80 students on a weekly basis. After dinner, we encourage students to stay and hang out with their friends, from dessert and table conversations to playing pool or board games in our one-of-a-kind basement lounge!

On Saturday mornings, we offer Shabbat brunch to those who choose to attend.

We have specialized Havdallah events throughout the semester, including karaoke and movie nights.
