Gary Wolff

Executive Director

Prior to taking his post as Executive Director of the Trachten Zachs Hillel House at the University of Connecticut, Gary spent five years in multiple positions at Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach in Boca Raton Florida. Gary is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa and in his previous life has been a store manager and divisional admistrator of South Africa's leading fashion retailer Truworths International LTD.

It's without saying that Gary is an avid sports fan, bleeding Green and Gold for the South African Springboks, Red and White for Liverpool Football Club, Orange and Blue for the Gators and of Course Blue and White for the Huskies.

Maureen Harakaly

Office Manager

Maureen is the longest tenured staff member here at Hillel. She keeps the trains running on time, helping out in every way. Hillel would be lost with out her, so be sure to pop your head into her office and say "Hi" when you visit! You can reach Maureen at info@uconnhillel.org 

Aviva Ron

Jewish Student Life Coordinator

Aviva graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelors of Arts in Social Thought and Political Economy and a minor in Women and gender studies. Aviva Ron holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Connecticut, School of Social Work. Her concentration was in Community Organization with substantive areas in International Issues, Women Children and Families, and Urban Issues. She completed her academic internships with the United Nations as a member of the International Associations of Schools of Social Work and Ebony Horsewomen Inc. in Hartford; she continues to volunteer with Ebony Horsewomen. Her professional interests include girls’ rights to education, access to social services, and children's rights in the Middle East.
